Frequently Asked Questions

Will my product be exactly the same as in the photo?
No. Each piece is unique and individually handmade, so slight variations in colour and pattern are bound to occur. The photograph is a good guide to the piece you will receive, but not an exact representation.

Will edges be completely straight?
No. Due to the handcrafted nature of the product edges may not be completely straight. Many people like the fact that the edges are not straight as it shows the pieces are a deluxe item and not factory made.

How do I fix my splashback to the wall?
Although it is possible for a competent DIYer to install a large kitchen splashback, we recommend that you employ a qualified builder to do the job. Wall panels must be installed onto sound walls and using the correct fixings applicable for the surface or wall construction type. Splashbacks can be installed with strong, flexible clear glazing silicon if the walls are even and the plaster in good condition. If a splashback is to be installed behind a hob or range, a minimum distance of 10cm from the back of the hob to the bottom of the splashback is essential. If this distance is less than 10cm an upstand with a height of at least 10cm should be installed first and the splashback placed on top of this.

How do I clean the glass?
SkyWater Glass Ltd products, tiles and splashbacks can be cleaned with warm water, washing up liquid and a soft sponge. Polish with a soft dry cloth to finish. Do not scour or use any abrasive materials which will damage the glossy surface. Do not pour boiling hot water directly onto the surface of the glass as this may cause it to fracture.
